This site explains published inflation and economic data, and it is paid for by advertising. Here is what that means for your privacy: what gets collected when you visit, why, and what you can do about it.

What's collected automatically

Open any page and our servers note the basics — the browser you are on, a rough location worked out from your IP address, which pages you looked at, and when. That is ordinary access-log data, the same kind almost every website keeps. We use it to keep things running and to get a sense of which pages are actually worth reading.

How we measure traffic

We use Firebase to see how the site is used overall — which pages get read, how people move from one to the next. It is all aggregate: the reports describe patterns across many visitors, not you in particular.

Advertising and cookies

Ads are what keep this site free to read, and we run them through Google AdSense. AdSense may set cookies to serve ads and check how they perform, and some of those ads can be tailored to what you have looked at before, here and on other sites. If you would rather not have that, you can switch off ad personalization in your browser or through Google's Ads Settings page.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information — full stop. The data above goes toward running the site, understanding how it is used, and funding it through ads, and nothing more. We are not building marketing profiles of you, and we hold on to access logs only for as long as they stay useful for keeping the site working and secure.

Children

This is a site for people curious about economic data, not for children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child has sent us personal information, tell us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, laws like the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California give you real control over your data — the right to see it, correct it, delete it, or opt out of certain uses. To make a request, or if anything here is unclear, email us at [email protected].

Updates

We will revise this policy as the site changes or the rules around it do. When that happens, the newer version replaces this one and covers your continued use of the site.
